Hailing from Portland, OR, The Rose City Band played their first of 2 sold out NY shows at Mercury Lounge on Monday evening. Bringing their brand of psychedelic country, the boys in Rose City offered up a set consisting of floating in the clouds dreamscapes combining the the twang and passion of The Flying Burrito Brothers with the space jams of The Grateful Dead. Unfortunately we had a hard 8:30 pm curfew Monday night so we didn’t get an encore but that being said, the set closer, “Dawn Patrol”, a 10+ minute cosmicana jam was a perfect end to their psyched out set.
