Duane Betts released one of my surprise favorite albums of the year a week or so ago called Wild And Precious Life. Of you’re a fan of @officialallmanbrothers you really need to give it a listen.
Well I was super stoked to have had the opportunity to catch Duane and his current band, Palmetto Motel at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar and he and the band did not disappoint. With a set of material mostly from the new album he had the mostly gray haired crowd boogying like it was The Fillmore East circa 1971.
And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the scalding hot version of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed was one of the best I’ve ever heard. The back and forth between Duane and his longtime guitar sidekick, Johnny Stechella was nothing short of 🔥🔥
