Long running second and a half wave ska band Bim Skala Bim dropped a surprise single today over on their bandcamp page. Formed in Boston back in 1983, Bim back in the day spearheaded what was a vibrant ska scene in Beantown. ”Gimme Some” is a bouncy rock steady jaunt which sounds like it could have been an out take from the Toots and The Maytals’ Funky Kingston album.
Bim Skala Bim, for what its worth will be playing a 40th anniversary matinee show on January 6th at The Crystal Ballroom in The Somerville Theater.
