Toronto’s jangly indie pop band Ducks LTD will be releasing their sophomore effort, Harms Way in February and they just dropped the third (and what I would assume will be the last) pre-release single from it, called “Train Full Of Gasoline”. TFOG is an upbeat mover and shaker of a song which chugs along as if it were a musical freight train. Lead singer and guitarist for Ducks LTD, Tom McGreevy says that he used the Lac-Megantic rail disaster which occured in Quebec back in 2013 as a metaphor for allowing little issues in life to build up and create big issues in life.
With help from Ratboys’s Marcus Nunzio and Julia Steiner, “Train Ful Of Gasoline” certainly shows off the promise that Harms Way will be a worthy follow up to 2021’s stellar Modern Fiction.
Ducks LTD will be playing here in New York with dates to be announced during the New Colossus Music Festival (March 6-10).
