11. Oceanator – Everything is Love and Death

This one should really be considered a 10A rather than 11 because if it killed me not to include Society Of Rockets in my top 10 then, not including Everything Is Love and Death absolutely rips my heart out. EIL&D tends to be a harder rocking album than Oceanator has offered up in the past which brings it more in line with their live shows which invariably rip. And so does this album. Elise’s songwriting just keeps getting better and better, almost at an exponential rate and I’m not even gong to get into their lead guitar chops which continue to astound me. One of the hardest rocking bands coming out of the current Brooklyn DIY scene, this album proves that hard work does pay off.
