I’ve been doing a running playlist of new music every year for well over a decade which I have always called “I Hate New Music”, a sort of spin on The Replacements’ song “I Hate Music” and the common boomer claim that there is no good new music since the 70’s. Anyway, this year, I’ve decided to do something a little different in that I will attempt to create a new playlist each month, as I’m hoping to keep it going a little more consistently as the year goes along. So without further ado, here is the playlist of new singles and individual songs from the month of January. I’ll be the first to say that this playlist is all over the place. Its not meant to be cohesive and it certainly doesn;t have any knd of running theme (other than the fact that all of these songs were released in January 2025. As far as genres are concerned, it contains almost everything which tickles my musical fancies. I hope you enjoy and I also hope it brings attention to an artist whom you might not have heard of before.
