The Trust Of Crows – Otis Gibbs (Wanamaker Recording Company)

I’ve been a huge fan of Otis Gibbs ever since the first time I heard his song “Caroline” off of his debut LP, Grandpa Walked a Picket Line from 2009. To make a long story short, Trust Of Crows is Gibbs’ best album since 2012’s Harder Than Hammered Hell. Crows offers up the wonderful old timey story songs we’ve come to love from Otis but with this LP he’s added a bit of fire to the musical mix with a crack band of Nashvillian pros. With Thomm Jutz on guitar, Dave Jaques on bass, and Lynn Williams on drums, the sound on Trust Of Crows pops and explodes, offering the perfect soundtrack for these classic stories which Gibbs has assembled for our listening pleasure.
