The Beths – “Metal”

Happy Freakin’ Monday!!!! My favorite band in recent memory had a whole bunch of announcements this morning and not a single one of them bring failed to bring a smile to my pie hole.

First, the Aukland, NZ quartet has signed on to Anti Records which seems like a perfect fit for the band.

Then, we got new music from Elizabeth Stokes, guitarist Jonathan Pearce, bassist (and part time breakfast blogger) Benjamin Sinclair, and drummer Tristan Deck. The newly released single “Metal” is a jangly power pop beauty that foretells that when we do get a new LP from the band, there will be no let down from their first three superb releases, Future Me Hates Me, Jump Rope Gazers and Experts In A Dying Field. (No word just yet as to when this LP might be seeing the light of day). And lastly the band will be embarking on an extensive tour this coming fall
