Beliefs & Thieves – The Kilograms (Rad Girlfriend Records)

Sammy Kay, Joe Gittleman and the rest of The Kilograms have been piecing out advanced singles to Beliefs & Thieves for some time now, so it comes as no surprise that this new one is a banger. With a perfect mix of ska, RnR, rocksteady and foot stompin’ heartland rock this ought to be a favorite for many of us comes year end. A couple of favorites that are due immediate mention have to be “Battles” which right off the bat reminds me of Springsteen’s “No Surrender” (although the Two Cow Garage version not Bruce’s) mixed with a farfisa beat. Also, if “Faith & Love” isn’t on everyone’s summer party playlist, I don’t even know who you are.

Congrats to The Kilograms for a truely great record. You guys hit it out of the park with this one!
