Jeff Rosenstock Says Goodbye to Bottom Of The Hill Summer of Chaos (2026-06-09 & 10)

Its taken me a minute to finally post about Jeff Rosenstock‘s 2 shows at San Francisco’s fabled Bottom Of The Hill last week. (Those pesky NY Knicks and their NBA championship managed to sidetrack my attention).

Anyway, when it was announced back in January that this legendary independent venue would be closing at the end of 2026, I immediately thought to myself that one way or another I needed to make my way out to SF and partake in one more show in this incredible room. Well Jeff and his crew of merry pranksters must have read my mind when they chose to close out their 2 week west coast mini tour (Summer Of Chaos 2026) with 2 nights at BOTH.

As was totally expected these 2 shows, both of which lasted just north of two hours and featured almost 75 songs, not a single one which was repeated either night. With that, we of course were treated to all (or close to it) of Jeff’s solo worldwide “hits” as well as selections from Bomb The Music Industry as well as Arrogant Sons Of Bitches. Not to mention a smattering of covers (Stone Temple Pilots and Ging Yang Boyz).

What a two nights it was! Can’t wait for Death Rosenstock to return to NY in the fall over at Roof Top at Pier 17.

Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention opening band Star 99 from San Jose. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Saoirse Alesandro and the rest of Star 99 are pretty much a quintessential West Coast pop punk band straight out of the Green Day/Weezer mold that combines a perfect mix of saccharine flavored hooks with superb instrumentation.
